We met when I was in high school just running 5ks back in 1999-2000. He inspired me to do many great things with my running. First of which was a 12 mile run. He kicked my butt...he was in his 60s and I was in my teens. He coached me through my first marathon and my first ultra, as well as, qualifying and training for Boston Marathon. Jim was a hero to many of us. I am so happy to hear that he was an inspiration to you too. I hope you are still ultra running and whenever you "think" you are too tired to train, just think of Jim. He is running beside you. We didn't call him "Coach" for nothing. Good luck in your running endeavors! I had a nice e-mail exchange with him right after this report was published. He seemed a classic gentleman and, yes, an inspiration.TheRunningHackerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14610028942286799363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-973577414713348039.post-41509865298589048472013-06-29T19:49:29.511-04:002013-06-29T19:49:29.511-04:00Great stuff, Pat. I think you and I did some back and forth going through section 3 while my legs were junk.

Congrats on your race!Theahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07478537964223804220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-973577414713348039.post-82180729354622848022011-10-21T10:14:08.570-04:002011-10-21T10:14:08.570-04:00It was great running with you! Part of me wish I had kept running with you - I couldn't believe I had that much get up and go... believe me though, I was pretty much out of oomph by the middle of section 4. I'm so glad you did so well and it was great running with you! I hope we see you again next year, or at some other races!

TiffanyHrach_Gardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03754082573998676409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-973577414713348039.post-29525047630867652132011-10-18T15:35:34.546-04:002011-10-18T15:35:34.546-04:00That sounded like a great race and experience. I was pretty thrilled when I finished my first 10 mile race (a run around Cazenovia Lake), I didn't come down for days!Vincenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-973577414713348039.post-37388775342227204572011-10-18T15:01:16.355-04:002011-10-18T15:01:16.355-04:00What a great race report! :)Congratulations on you...What a great race report! :)Congratulations on your finish and on meeting your goal!Terrihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13934176006773916798noreply@blogger.com
